Shamiz Kachwalla

Healing Severe Ulcerative Colitis without drugs and surgery

Shamiz Kachwalla had severe ulcerative colitis that saw him hospitalized for weeks and when his health continued to deteriorate under the “care” of the medical system, doctors recommended that he remove a section of his bowel. This procedure is called a colostomy and it allows faeces and gas to leave the body via the stoma with a small disposable bag worn on the outside of the body to collect the faeces. He was 22 years old at the time and surgery seemed not only extreme but would involve additional months of hospitalization. His mother started searching online and she found a book, that provided answers that doctors could give, including the reason for bowel conditions such as Ulcerative Colitis but also a road map on how to heal. Unbeknownst to the doctors, Shamiz discontinued medication as soon as he was able to, while in hospital and started on the protocol and with the support of his family, was discharged with no sign of colitis in his final colonoscopy.

He returned home and went back to his former diet, and ended up hospitalized again but he was also severely depressed. This time he refused treatment and was told to leave the hospital if he was not going to take their drugs. The way he was treated, only pushed him to take control of his health, and he has not looked back.

Thirteen years on, he not only remains recovered from ulcerative colitis but lives a full and active life, doing marathons, half marathons and iron man events.

After recovering, he was inspired to start a business with his brother, Shukal to help other people. They provide support for people to heal who have ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s and other bowel diseases and have helped hundreds of people to heal from other conditions as well, providing a wealth of information on their website, including recipes, podcasts, links to prominent doctors and research, master classes, individualized support, programs, testimonials, etc..

The best healers have healed themselves and Shamiz has a wealth of knowledge, and personal experience healing himself using the right foods and mindset.

In this podcast, he shares his wisdom in a heart felt and frank conversation, also drawing from his own experience helping others to heal and we also discuss the online space where there is a lot of misinformation driven by profiteering. He speaks in easy to understand terms, explaining how he healed in the hope of inspiring others to do their own research, think for themselves, recognize the various conflicts of interests in the medical and wellness industries, fight for themselves and live a life without fear.

“I mean, it’s almost like a duty, right? If you know something, you need to speak about it, and that’s why we started High Carb Health. We started a Youtube channel so we could bring awareness to people out there. That if didn’t have any idea about this condition, especially back in 2014. No one was talking about diet and lifestyle”

One of the critical elements of Shamiz’s health journey was the support from family to continue on the diet, which is the reasoning behind the personalized support that he and his brother now provide under High Carb Health. They also have clients who have been recommended by medical professionals and have helped hundreds of people to heal.
